Overview
The Klarna verification method is a fast, document-free identity verification option. Instead of uploading ID documents, your identity is confirmed through a secure cross-check of your personal data and verification of your registered contact details via one-time passwords (OTP).
This service is provided by Klarna.
To start the verification, go to the Profile → Verification process section in your Betano account and select the Klarna option.
What you need before starting
To complete the verification successfully, make sure you have:
- An active Klarna account registered with a German phone number and email address
- Access to your registered mobile phone (for SMS verification code)
- Access to your registered email inbox (for email verification code)
- Personal details in Klarna must exactly match your Betano account details
- Name, date of birth, and other details must be identical
- Any mismatch may result in verification failure
How to verify your account via Klarna
- Log in to your Betano account
- Navigate to Account → Profile → Verification Process
- Select Klarna as your verification method
- Enter your phone number in the Klarna interface to start the verification
- You will receive two one-time passwords (OTPs):
- One via SMS
- One via email
- Enter both OTP codes in the Klarna flow
- Check your inbox and spam folder
- Both codes are time-limited
- Follow any remaining on-screen instructions
- Once completed, you will be redirected back to Betano
What happens next?
- Once verification is successful, your Betano account is fully verified and active
- No additional KYC steps are required
If you encounter any issues during the process, please double-check that your personal details match across all platforms, or try again later. Our support team is always available if you need further assistance.
If you don’t have a Klarna account
If you don’t have a Klarna account, you may be prompted to complete a short identity confirmation step directly within the Klarna interface.
If Klarna is unavailable or not working, you can verify your account using IDnow instead.
